PRICKLY BAY to TYRREL BAY

 LEAVING GRENADA
FOR TYRREL BAY, CARRIACOU

We turned west once outside of Prickly Bay, enjoyed the motoring past True Blue Point (my name for it). At Point Saline we hung a right with plans to get in the lee and raise the mainsail and put in the 2nd and 3rd reef lines that we had failed to do when putting the mainsail on its boom. But as thing go it was howling and we had to motor further up the island to finally get into 14 kts of wind to do the chore.

Gene preparing to raise the main.

Ah, lookin' good!

Yep! We're going the right way.

As you can see, King Neptune lives on this one of the three Sister's Rocks.

Diamond Rock.

Susea frantically reeling in the line because . . .

These and more boobie birds where trying to steal our lure thinking it a fish! We caught a boobie bird in Mexico one time and we didn't want to have to give another CPR!

We had to motor-sail unfortunately. It took 7.5 hours to go 37.8 nautical miles. Gene hugged the western shore of Grenada to keep from being set west then pinched as high east as he could to keep from having to tack later and beat back up to Tyrrel Bay. We chose to go between Diamond Rock and Ronde Island, which we've never done before. The current was 3 kts in our favor, It's a seabird nesting ground around there.
